Adventure Media 2023
An honors course at Texas Tech University, Adventure Media is a class that's focused on production, creativity and storytelling while putting students in a place to engage in type 2 recreation. In our case, the class was centered around bike-packing.
Our group, the #DoñaAnaChileChasers, traveled 170 miles by bike over a large part of the Monumental Loop in Southern New Mexico. Each student was tasked with recording relevant photo, video and vlog style interviews to document our experiences on the trail.
The capstone project for the class was to produce, edit and publish a 3-part YouTube series showcasing our literal and metaphysical journeys. My primary post-production role was focused on the creation of Episode 3 in the series.
My own personal story with a rare degenerative genetic illness was captured during my time in the class. I was extremely humbled that my story of hope and perseverance was shared with the Texas Tech community.
